Read This If You Need Rest

“One of the best guides to how to be self-loving is to give ourselves the love we often dream about receiving from others.” Bell Hooks
If you are reading this there is a high probability that your body needs to rest. Many of us are going through the hardest two years of our lives and the need to process the world around us is greater than ever. This message is intended to inspire you to advocate for your boundaries and prioritize your well being. Come back to these words anytime you need a reminder that you have a divine right to live life in peace.
1. Rest so your heart can recharge
Over the last two years, we have all suffered immense loss and experienced extreme periods of isolation from our loved ones. Give yourself the space and time to process the fact that you’re actually living through spiritual warfare!
“The apocalypse will happen in the heart chakra.” Bobby Hemmit
Focus on creating a safe space to let go of past heartaches and pains. Take some deep breaths and release anything that is currently disturbing your nervous system. Open your heart chakra to the idea that love has the power to transform your current reality.
Rest is a form of self love. Take the time to quiet your mind. Advocate for your right to heal your body. Prioritize your connection with spirit. If boundaries need to be drawn in the sand, use compassion to express your need to rejuvenate. Women and femmes especially have been gaslit into believing self care is selfish.
There is nothing the world needs more than for everyone - on an individual level- to heal their pain. Mother earth is begging us to harness our internal power and learn how to transmute our energy through love. Give your heart a break. Whether this means taking a digital detox or saying no the next time your invited out, empower yourself to retreat inward whenever intuition calls.
2. You are exactly where your supposed to be…RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW
You will always end up where your intended to be. Time is an illusion and at this moment you are exactly where you need to be. One of my favorite Twitter accounts is @TheNapMinistry often talks about the importance of disrupting the capitalist machine via doing nothing. Maybe your role today is to rest. Maybe there is a world where communities unite by prioritizing rest and recovery. Maybe this is your sign to rest.
As divine human beings are we really created to produce every single day? Your worth is not determined by your ability to perform tasks to perfection. Relax. Your purpose expands far beyond your ability to work. Take a moment to breathe. Notice your body functioning on its own. Sometimes we just need a moment to remember who we are and why we are here.
3. Learn to say no without shame
As a woman, my divine duty on this planet is to empower others to connect with their sacred feminine energy. For years, women have been gaslit into feelings of shame, selfishness, and greed whenever rest is centered in conversation. Practice clearing your throat chakra when people question why you want to rest. YOLO is real but burnout is realer. Never be afraid to say no without shame.
Shame is a sibling to depression. The feeling of unworthiness can cripple a sweet soul from the inside out. Throw away any negative mindsets around what it means to rest. You are not machine. You deserve to rest. The community benefits when you are well rested. The world benefits when we are grounded in our purpose and clear with our intentions.
Take your time. Regularly taking time to unplug from the outside world is necessary for the well being of your mind, body, and spirit. Be open to receiving the resources and space you need to adequately rest. Remember, you are in the world….not of it. Love is the highest frequency. REST IS REVOLUTIONARY. Peace!
